Rogelio Martell is a documentary filmmaker, photographer, and visual storyteller from Lima, Peru, where he began his filmmaking career. He has worked as a photojournalist and writer for magazines and newspapers in Peru, publishing articles and photo essays on travel, indigenous cultures, shamanism, and sacred places in South America, the United States, and Europe.
Passionate about documenting disappearing traditions, Rogelio has spent decades photographing indigenous communities, preserving their rituals, ceremonies, and cultural heritage through photography and film.
After moving to the United States, he studied Photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York, Documentary Production at USC, and Filmmaking at Los Angeles City College (LACC). He also worked as Photo Editor for a bilingual newspaper in Burbank, California.
Today, Rogelio is the founder of Martell Media Productions, where he develops documentaries, television programs, and digital media projects that explore culture, music, spirituality, history, and social issues through authentic visual storytelling.
